Through Monday to Saturday, a new category is posted each day relating to the colour of the week and reveal interesting facts and knowledge you may not have known before.

But which colours will be explored?

Well, that's a surprise!

Here are the categories that you can follow:

Be Mellow with Yellow

Be Mellow with Yellow

By Alison

When I think of the colour yellow sunshine, daffodils and yellow emoticon smiley faces usually come to mind.

In colour psychology yellow is the lightest hue of the colour spectrum and resonates with the left side of the brain that relates to logic, mental agility and perception.

Therefore in this sense yellow represents the mind and intellect, reason and logic, empowering one to see things for what they are. This prevents distortion and enables clarity of vision...

Being a bright, vivid and attention grabbing, the colour yellow echoes the word optimism, encouraging us to see the "bright" side of things even on the darkest days...

It is uplifting and stimulates an enthusiasm for everything life has to offer, awakening hope, confidence and happiness in ourselves.

The sunshine that comes from each sunrise itself signals the dawn of a new day and therefore a new "me". New opportunities, awakenings and another shot at giving life all you have got.

Yellow energises, grants awareness of who we are only to unveil the potential of who we can be.

Yellow also signals communication of new ideas; the ability to express one's self by being who you truly are; you in your raw and natural authentic state.

Green with Envy

Green with Envy

By Alison

Green is the product (child) of its parents yellow and blue.
In using this analogy lets investigate the personality traits of Green’s parents.
Yellow is indicative of mental clarity and optimism whilst Blue represents emotional calm and intuitive insights.

Therefore the amalgamation of Green can be used to induce hope, balance, harmony, renewal and rebirth...

Green stays true to its roots (pun unintended). It comes from the Old English word “grene”, which shares the same etymology as the words "grass" and "grow". This explains its inextricable link to mother earth and nature.
More scientifically, the pigment green appears on plants as the chemical chlorophyll which is involved in photosynthesis.

On a more personal note, I woke up today ready to immerse myself into the emotions that I often associate with green including inner peace, serenity and growth.
I began the day with eating breakfast in my backyard.

A picture paints a thousand words.
But to give you some context, my backyard is my oasis, whenever I am stressed, overwhelmed or just sad I often spent time meditating  or chilling in my backyard.

Nature is authentic, raw and sublime.
It has this power to make you pause for a second and just take in it's beauty, admire in awe...
or to be put in other words, live in the moment.

The colour green is quite contradictory and possesses a dualism, like all colours which are free to interpretation.

On it's darker side it can represent:
- materialism
-envy
-selfishness
-greed

At the same time we can all learn something from greenery as captured by nature...

The journey is more important that the final result of outcome

Resilience and patience are powerful virtues

We all have the ability to "refresh" ourselves, change and adapt to our circumstances.

We can learn when to hold on and let go

Our mistakes can be our lessons

Just as the colour green has two sides; we have the choice of which perspective we take when we face everyday situations in life:

Optimism and Hope                                           v.s.                                    Pessimism and Doubt
